Titanium anode (MMO) is made of the precious metal iridium salt coated on the titanium substrate through high temperature sintering, widely used in electroplating (circuit board industry with high requirements for deep hole electroplating copper, electroplating), electrolysis and other hydrometallurgical industry. The preparation and application of the electrode has been quite mature, so far has 40 years of history, compared with the traditional platinum-plated electrode in the alkaline copper process, titanium anode has the advantages that platinum-plated electrode can not be compared:
1. Technical characteristics
High current efficiency, excellent anti-bacterial corrosion performance; Long electrode life; Can be with the higher current density, running current density: "10000A/M2 belongs to the industrial pure titanium as the base of oxygen evolution type anode"
2, high catalytic activity
It is well known that the platinum-plated electrode is a high peroxide potential (1.563V, relative to mercurous sulfate) electrode, while the MMO anode is a low oxygen evolution electrode (1.385V, relative to mercurous sulfate), which is more prone to oxygen evolution in the anodic oxygen evolution zone. Therefore, when electrolyzing, the trough village is also relatively low, which saves energy. This phenomenon has been clearly reflected in the alkaline copper-plated wall after copper foil treatment.
3. Pollution-free MMO
The anode coating is a ceramic oxide of the precious metal iridium, which is a fairly stable oxide, almost insoluble in any acid or base, and the oxide coating is about 20-40µm, and the overall coating oxide amount is less. Therefore, the MMO anode does not pollute the plating solution, which is basically the same as the platinum-plated electrode.
4, cost-effective
The same service life of the platinum-plated electrode (coating thickness of 3.5mm) has been maintained, the price of the MMO anode is about 80% of the platinum-plated electrode, the MMO electrode has better electrochemical stability in the alkaline electroplating copper electrolyte, and it has excellent electrolytic activity and durability. From the analysis of the cost of the company's MMO anode and PT electrode, it is obvious that the MMO electrode is economical.
5, because the application of copper in printed circuits requires the use of pulse period reverse (PPR), we know that the use of platinized titanium insoluble anodes is prohibited 9 sulfuric acid electrolyte chloride in this current environment, after a period of time will cause the platinum layer to peel off). However, the use of dimensionally stable anodes can avoid this phenomenon and enable insoluble anodes technology to successfully achieve performance advantages in this application.
6, minimum anode maintenance. There is no need to stop production to clean and refill the anode, replace the anode bag and re-coat the anode (increased productivity and reduced labor costs);
7, the life of the insoluble anode depends on the type, working current density and contact with various electroplating chemicals.
